SAC Standing Committee Report February 2004

Student Affairs Committee
Report to Senate
February 6, 2004

SAC met by conference call on Thursday, January 15, 2004. Our next meeting is in person on Friday, February 22 in Albany.

The committee welcomed Dennis Belt and Bill Ferrero to discuss the technology fee increase from $50 to $75 starting in the fall of 2004. We discussed ways to inform students of the fee increase and decided to put a notice in the spring newsletter. The committee further discussed why we charge quarter-time non-matriculated students a different amount than other students.

The committee reviewed the proposed academic integrity policy in December and gave feedback to the graduate program. The main concern was maintaining communication with the student. The academic integrity sub-committee continues to meet monthly. The committee is currently writing an article for the newsletter and reviewing information given to students on this area.

College Student and Academic Support Services Inventory: The sub-committee continues to meet on a monthly basis and plans to release the inventory in March. We have opened communication with the front porch committee in order to collaborate and share results with the committee.

Respectfully submitted,

Amy J. Tweedy
