SUNY Empire State College Yards for Yeardley
SUNY Empire State College students will dedicate time during this year’s Student Wellness Retreat to raise awareness about relationship abuse, sexual assault, violence, and harassment on Friday, April 6.
In partnership with SUNY system and One Love Foundation, our students aim to log the first million yards of SUNY’s “Around the World for Yeardley” campaign in honor of victims and survivors of relationship abuse. SUNY Empire will be the first of more than 20 SUNY campuses to participate, setting the pace for college students, faculty and staff throughout New York.
Please join us in Albany for the kick-off at 9:30 a.m., or any time throughout the day, and contribute to SUNY Empire’s Yards for Yeardley. If you’re not in area, you can get a group together locally, or walk/run on your own and log your yards by joining Team #SUNYEmpire in the Charity Miles app.
When: Friday, April 6, 2018 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Where: The Desmond Hotel, 660 Albany Shaker Road, Albany, NY

Established in 2010 following the death of Yeardley Love, a University of Virginia scholar athlete who was killed by her ex-boyfriend, One Love Foundation has become the national leader in educating young people about healthy and unhealthy relationships and galvanizing them as leaders of change.
Thank you to our students for positioning SUNY Empire as a leader in this important initiative.
