Curriculum/Timeline

The curriculum is broken down into five distinct areas of competency:

Timeline

The  curriculum moves through the concepts of "me as leader" into the concept of "we as leaders" throughout the course of the year:

Fall 2020

• kick off meeting
• meet your coach/coaching sessions
• attend the virtually intensive weekend-long meeting and required leadership workshops
• conduct informational interview
• attend the scheduled monthly webinars
• attend the scheduled monthly advisory meetings
• read assigned common read (book TBD)
• complete independent volunteer project

Winter 2020/2021

• continue monthly coaching sessions
• continue monthly webinars
• continue monthly advisory meeting
• attend the virtually intensive weekend-long meeting
• attend two online webinars
• create/plan a Social Action Project

Spring 2021

• continue monthly coaching sessions
• continue monthly webinars
• continue monthly advisory meeting
• attend the virtually intensive weekend-long meeting and required leadership workshops
• implement, execute and complete Social Action Project

Fall 2021

• attend the Student Wellness Retreat (possibly virtually) and speak with the new incoming SLI class

In addition to the timeline of events listed above, each student in the SLI will complete the following at times that best fit their schedules

• watch two leadership videos/webinars
• attend one Deliberative Discussion event of their choice per term, two events total
