Calling All POETS for National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month, and we want to celebrate by encouraging all the poets out there to participate in our Poetry Month Contest. Student Success and Development is partnering with Arts and Humanities assistant professor and mentor, Mindy Kronenberg to showcase our student poets. Whether you consider yourself a seasoned poet or someone who is new to this art, feel free to submit a piece of work to our contest! We ask that all submissions are sent to us by Friday, April 29 by 4 p.m. (EST). All poems submitted will be published in our May Student Newsletter (if they adhere to the guidelines). One winner will be selected, and a prize will be awarded.
To be eligible for the contest, you must be a student currently enrolled in the Spring 2022 Term and follow the guidelines below:
- Poems can be on any topic or subject.
- Must refrain from using unnecessary profanities or provocative language – keep it clean.
- Please use size 12, Times New Roman font, and do not exceed two pages in length.
- Only one submission per student is allowed.
- Any style of poetry is allowed as long as you follow the rules listed above.
Additionally, by submitting a poem, you agree to allow us to publish your work in the May issue of the Student Newsletter.
All questions and poems can be submitted by emailing SuccessNews@esc.edu.
