Greetings from your newly elected Student Government Association (SGA)! The SGA is comprised of the executive board and senators. As the SGA, we are students who represent the various programs and schools within SUNY Empire. This academic year, we anticipate great success with our committees designed for the student body, including the Bluebird Committee, the newly restructured S.E.E.N. Committee (Student Success, Events, Engagement, Needs), and the by-laws and election committees. The SUNY Empire SGA also represents our college in the SUNY Student Assembly, further ensuring that the voices of the student body at SUNY Empire are represented in the broader SUNY system.  

We are open and ready to connect and collaborate with various clubs, groups, and departments as opportunities to interact online and in person, become available to us. We have a commitment to both students and faculty throughout this academic year, with the goal of advancing the culture of excellence here at SUNY Empire. We are open to exploring new ideas, meeting the needs of students, and interacting with the college community more effectively.  

The SGA will participate in the Fall Kickoff on September 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. The SGA will offer a virtual welcome, and we will be dispersed in-person at the various college locations throughout the state. We would love the pleasure and honor of meeting students and staff at the event! This is a splendid opportunity to meet classmates, staff, professors, and alumni in person and become connected to our college community. Through the remainder of 2022 and the entirety of the 2023 spring semester, the SGA will actively participate in events and meet many of you online or in person.   

Please know that our door is open to you. We welcome your conversation and input during the year. We cannot wait to begin working for our SUNY Empire community and to celebrate our collective successes during the 2022-23 academic year.
