Applications are now being accepted for two highly selective scholarships: the ACT for Excellence and Student Initiative Scholarship, and the Nancy L. Zimpher Scholarship. These are available to students who have been enrolled in the 2021-22 academic year and had a Dean’s List GPA, as of the last reporting period. These scholarships award $1,000 and $1,500, respectively. 

The ACT Scholarship was developed to reward students for excellence in their academic performance and extraordinary commitment to their campus and/or community. Recipients of this scholarship must demonstrate that they played a role in identifying and/or supporting specific needs on their campus or community and worked to provide a service or solution to address that need. 

The Nancy L. Zimpher Scholarship was developed to recognize a teacher education major who personifies the vision and mission of SUNY Chancellor Emeritus Zimpher’s commitment to excellence in the elementary and secondary teacher education profession. Additional requirements for this scholarship include enrollment in a K-12 teacher education degree program at the undergraduate or graduate level.
