By: Andrea Piazza, Disability Specialist, Office of Accessibility Resources and Services

With the fall term underway, are you realizing you need to improve how you manage your time? Time management may be difficult for students with many responsibilities beyond their coursework. Here are some free and low-cost apps that can help you manage your time:

  • Todoist (limited free trial, $3 per month after trial) for iOS, Android, macOS, and Window users. This app allows users to create lists to account for their priorities and tasks.  Features include setting reoccurring tasks, subtasks, and receiving reminder notifications.
  • myHomework (free basic version) for iOS and Android users. myHomework features class tracking , homework, exams and assignments. This app allows users to set up block and period-based schedules and homework reminders.
  • Remember the Milk (free basic version) is for iOS, Android and web. This app can sync with linked devices. Integration with gmail, Google Calendar and Evernote is available.  You can also get help with delegating tasks, receiving text reminders , email and instant messaging .

SUNY Empire also has time management resources through Academic Support.  Students seeking accommodations due to a disability should contact the Accessibility Resources & Services Office (email: disability.services@esc.edu). Melissa Zgliczynski or Andrea Piazza will connect with you to confidentially discuss your needs or questions further.  Please go to the office website for more information about the services and resources available: www.esc.edu/accessibility/.
