It’s time for SUNY Empire State College’s 4thAnnual Student Art Competition. Students are encouraged to begin thinking about what they would like to submit this year. Last year we were blown away by the volume of submissions received and the talent they demonstrated.

Students can submit art work online to be reviewed by a committee of judges across the state. Any type/medium of art is accepted for judging. There is a one-submission limit per student, transmitted as a two-dimensional electronic image. It must be appropriate in content to represent the college.

The winning piece will be announced and the winner recognized at the annual Student Academic Conference. The first-place winner’s work will be printed in poster form to be used in various college publications and displayed throughout the college. First-, second- and third-prize winners receive a monetary award; there are two honorary mentions as well.

Students can submit a PDF of their artwork for the 2012 competition from Feb. 1 through May 4 via www.esc.edu/studentart. On the site, students click ‘New Main Topic’ and complete the poster submission form.

Questions should be directed to Danielle Benedict at 518-587-2100, ext. 2255 or by email to Danielle.Benedict@esc.edu.
