Deb Smith“A Taste of Iceland" by Deb Smith, at left, associate professor at CDL-international programs, was recently published in the August-September issue of Atlantica Travel magazine, the English-language visitor's magazine of Iceland.

In the article, Smith lunches on traditional Icelandic home-cooked foods prepared at Cafe Loki, near Hallgrimskirkja Cathedral in Reykjavik. In particular, she contrasts Italian gelatos with the Café Loki specialty, Icelandic brown-bread ice cream.

In the October-November edition of Atlantica, Smith cooks and taste-tests recipes in “Chef Úlfar: Icelandic Home Cooking on a Budget,” by Úlfar Eysteinsson. Úlfar is the chef-proprietor of Þrír frakkar (Three Overcoats), a fine-dining favorite of both British chef Jamie Oliver and Smith, located at Baldursgata 14 in Reykjavik.

Both the current issue and future issues of Atlantica are available at Smith’s current article appears on page 14.
