Summer Internship ProgramSUNY Empire State College is offering paid summer internships to provide qualified candidates the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally at a SUNY institution while working alongside respected members of the college community. Internship assignments will be for a six-week period beginning approximately June 6 and ending approximately July 15 (start and end dates are flexible as long as the total hours do not exceed 180 hours per intern).

The program targets both high school graduates (must be 18 or older) enrolled in a degree program for the upcoming fall and undergraduate/graduate-level students. These are paid internships, normally worked 30 hours per week for six weeks. The hourly rate for the interns will be $10 an hour.

How do candidates for the program apply?

Applicants are required to send a resumé and a brief cover letter outlining why he or she wants to work with SUNY Empire State College and what qualities/qualifications he or she offers the organization. Candidates also should provide work, education or character references to assist the Office of Human Resources in the selection and placement process.

The Office of Human Resources will accept applications from internship candidates until May 18. There will be no exceptions to this deadline. Applications should be submitted sooner rather than later.

Applications will be kept on file and final candidates will be asked to participate in the final interview process. Finalists will be contacted by phone to schedule an interview. The Office of Human Resources will be responsible for the placement of candidates in a functional area most suited.
