The Student Academic Conference planning committee has announced that registration for the 2016 Student Academic Conference is now open. StAC is a two-day conference, Oct. 21-22, at the Radisson on Wolf Road in Albany, N.Y. The conference aims to bring together students from all geographic and academic areas of the college to share and learn from each other in a variety of ways.
Students who have conducted research, presented at a national conference, or are passionate about a particular subject are encouraged to submit a presentation proposal. Presenting at the conference allows students to educate their peers on a particular area of expertise and build a network with others interested in the same topic. There are a variety of formats in which a presentation can be conducted, including individual, group, poster and artistic performances. Visit Call for Proposals for more information and to submit a proposal.
If you’re looking to participate in the event’s social aspect, consider attending the President’s Town Hall on Saturday morning, mingling with student clubs at the information tables or attending the art show and alumni reception on Friday evening. We also encourage students who are passionate about art to submit their own work for display at the art show. For more information on submitting art work, visit Call for Art Submissions.
Conference registration is free for students. In addition, limited travel grants are available to help students cover the cost of their hotel room and/or travel to and from the conference. New for 2016, students can apply for travel grants rough the conference registration and no longer need to fill out a separate form. Students can bring up to two guests for minimal fee.
