Margaret Mead said, “Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For indeed that’s all that ever has.”

What do you do when you believe in something so strongly that you feel compelled to bring about change? It can be as simple as getting involved.

Please join SUNY Empire for the first of our three collegewide “Get Out the Vote Campaign” events this Fall.  On Tuesday, September 20, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in six SUNY Empire locations, we will be hosting “Beyond the Vote: Getting Involved to Facilitate Change,” a panel presentation which will focus on how to become involved in causes or campaign issues and how to become an advocate and a voice for a person, party or cause when speaking on behalf of a group; whether you are looking to engage in your community at a local or a national level.

Panelists:

Kate Breslin, President, Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy
Lorie Longhany, former Democratic Chair
Richard Seibert, Republican Chair
Pamela Malone, SUNY Empire State College, union representative, being involved in the election process
Anita DeCianni-Brown, SUNY Empire State College, former school board member
