Regional Student Academic Symposiums

Do you want to jumpstart your career? Do you want to be the one that people look to when opportunity knocks? One of the most important skills you will need is how to present in public with confidence.
Now you have an opportunity to do this in a safe and supportive environment at the Regional Academic Symposiums.
Have you taken a class you really enjoyed and aced your final paper? Have you done some research that really moved you or accelerated your learning? This is the chance to demonstrate your expertise and get that all important chance to practice public speaking.
We have resources in place to assist you! First, we have a recorded online workshop that will help you put together your abstract and proposal. Then, there is a webinar that will help you prepare for the actual presentation.
Dates and time for The Regional Student Academic Symposiums are as follows:
Friday May 12, 2017 325 Hudson St., 5th floor, New York, NY, NY 9:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
Saturday May 20, 2017 113 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
Wednesday May 24, 2017 680 Westfall Rd., Rochester, NY 12:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.
No matter where you live you can participate at any of these locations in person and ONLINE! Yes, that is right – you an Skype from home or attend at one of the locations!
You must submit a proposal by April 24, 2017! So, speak with your mentor soon and brainstorm what would make a good presentation. You and your mentor or you and your fellow students may want to present something together. There are many possibilities!
Go to www.esc.edu/rsas to register and submit a proposal. Space is limited to create your abstract and description so please submit soon!
Remember – your presentation is not required to be completely finished by April 24th – just your abstract and description!
There will be six presentations chosen from the regional symposiums to present at the Fall Student Conference in November! This year student presentations at the Fall Student Conference will be by invitation only.
