Call for Nominations: Student Speakers for 2019 Commencement Ceremonies Self-nominations Encouraged

The Commencement Student Speaker Selection Committee is seeking nominations for students to speak at the 2019 SUNY Empire State College commencement ceremonies. (photo: Lisa Ryan '18, 2018 Commencement Speaker.)
Potential student candidates should represent SUNY Empire State College by demonstrating unique academic experiences and extracurricular involvement, as well as thoughtful engagement throughout his or her academic program.
Any member of the college community may nominate students who meet the necessary criteria, and student self-nominations are encouraged. Self-nominations will be required to upload a short video (nothing elaborate; can be from a phone video recording app), explaining why they feel they would make a good student commencement speaker. Nominated students will be sent a request to accept their nomination and, upon acceptance, also will be required to upload a short video explaining why they feel they would make a good student commencement speaker.

The deadline for nomination is Jan. 11, 2019.
