Did you know the Student Activity Fee Referendum (SAF) Vote is coming up?

Kimberly Neher, coordinator of alumni and student relations, SUNY Empire State College

August 17, 2017

The SAF fund provides many activities, events, and projects to enrich the curricular and co-curricular experiences of all students. Thanks to the student activity fee fund, SUNY Empire State College students have seen many, new, direct and effective benefits. The annual student academic conference, enhanced commencement ceremonies, job postings and career services, lectures, group study, student clubs, networking events, student art shows and an increase in student scholarships are just a sampling of what the fee supports.

According to SUNY Policy, a referendum must be held every two years to decide if the fee should remain mandatory. Currently, the fee is billed at the rate of $35 per term and is on the student’s regular bill. This is the lowest Activity Fee in SUNY. At the last referendum, our students passed the mandatory fee 2 to 1.

Students will vote in person at their regional location, November 26-December 7, 2018. All other students look for your ballots in the mail!

Please consider voting YES and we truly appreciate your participation in this most important vote.
