Elizabeth BradleyAssistant Professor Elizabeth Bradley, a mentor in the School for Graduate Studies, plans to present research on the use of computer simulation for classroom management training with pre-service teachers at the American Psychological Association annual convention, Aug. 2-5, in Orlando, Florida.

She is a nationally certified school psychologist and worked as a school psychologist under the Safe Schools Healthy Students federal initiative in a school district in western Massachusetts for three years prior to coming to Empire State College.

Bradley teaches courses including child and adolescent development, teaching diverse learners, exceptionalities, effective urban schools and mentored teaching. All of her courses are taught at the Northeast Center in Latham, N.Y. Prior to teaching at Empire State College, she taught psychology and education courses at several colleges and universities, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Baypath College and Mount Holyoke College.

She is also in the process of writing several journal articles. Bradley’s current research projects explore teacher confidence and competence in identifying and referring students at risk for teen violence and substance abuse, the assessment of pre-service teacher readiness and classroom management training for pre-service teachers through computer simulation.

Commenting on the SUNY Graduate Research Conference last April, which she attended, Bradley said she was “very impressed with the caliber of student work.” Empire State College was well represented, and faculty and students from many other universities (both domestic and international) also participated.

Bradley earned her Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her B.A. in clinical psychology and French from Tufts University.
