Empire State College Students Take Top Honor in Czech National Competition for Second Time; Advance to Next Round

Once again this year, a team made up of Empire State College and University of New York Prague students has taken the top honor in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. The successful team worked with Jan Hajek, a mentor from the local Prague business community. Under Hajek's tutelage, and with Professor Tanweer Ali's support and guidance, the team advances to the next round of regional competition in Milan, Italy this April. ... MORE

Laurie Nagelsmith, Ph.D., RN, CNE, Joins School of Nursing as Associate Dean; Nursing Programs Continue to Grow

With health care projected to be one of the fastest growing and dynamic fields of employment during the coming decades, Empire State College’s School of Nursing continues to grow. In 2008, the college introduced the RN to B.S. in Nursing, followed by a master’s degree program in nurse education, enrolling its first cohort of 30 students this month. The nursing program now enrolls 1,150 nursing students and there are 108 graduates to date. ... MORE
