February 19, 2015

Road Sign saying: Success AheadSUNY Empire State College students and alumni are invited to attend some of the upcoming career fairs and career events around New York state. Attendees do not need to preregister for the career fairs. There will be registration the day of the event.

Faculty and staff interested in helping students prepare for the events might consider sharing the following tips:

  • Research employers who are attending (list below includes links to event pages).
  • Practice “elevator pitch” (succinct presentation of skills, goals and fit with employer).
  • Have questions prepared to ask employer representatives.
  • Dress professionally.
  • Bring enough resumes to distribute to each potential employer.

For more information, contact, collegewide career development coordinator.

Participate in the @SUNYEmpireLife Twitter chat Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m., #SUNYEmpireCareer. This month’s topic will be career fairs.
