As part of the Midrash Section of the Society of Biblical Literature's Annual Meeting in San Francisco in November 2011, Susan Tower Hollis, School for Graduate Studies, Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, was invited to present an Egyptological response to Rivka Ulmer's Egyptian Cultural Icons in Midrash (Berlin 2009), along with responses to the volume by a biblical scholar and a midrash scholar.

Her paper, “Rivka Ulmer’s Egyptian Cultural Icons in Midrash: An Egyptologist’s Response,” has just been published in Shofar: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Jewish Studies. Vol. 33, No. 2 (Winter 2015), 122-130, along with three accompanying papers from that same panel.
