A paper by student Emmanuel Tabones and Mentor Justin Giordano was recognized at the Northeast Business & Economics Association 2015 conference with the Overall Best Paper Award.
The paper was based on their research about "Minimum Wages and Low-wage Workers: Correlational Evidence."
"It was all a complete surprise," said Tabones, who had expected simply to give a 15-20-minute presentation and reconnect with colleagues at the event.
The pair had not known their work was being considered for the honor.
