This celebration is designed to bring some of SUNY’s most talented undergraduate scholars together with SUNY Administration officials and members of our New York State Legislature and their office staff. The midday poster session will allow SUNY undergraduates the opportunity to present their research and creative academic projects to a large audience.

POSTER SESSIONS: Are events where students present a full poster board that is a visual representation of their scholarly or creative work. Your print should be large enough to attract people from a distance. You can put pictures, diagrams, results and short descriptions (in large type) that spark people’s interest in your project. The idea is to generate interest so people will stop by to ask you questions. In addition to the research of scientific pursuits, the Committee encourages creative presentations and projects from the fine arts and technology. Video or live presentations will be considered as well as posters.

Poster descriptions and a faculty recommendation are due to Danielle Boardman at by Jan. 22, 2016 at 5 p.m. The actual symposium will take place in Albany, N.Y. Feb. 24, 2016. Winning students are required to attend the event and some financial assistance will be given for travel.

Participating in this presentation project will give you contact with the many legislators, legislative office staff, and visitors passing through the Legislative Office Building as well as contact with fellow students from other SUNY colleges.

If you have any questions or are interested in applying, please email Danielle Boardman at for an application.
