Empire State College's banner flew front and center at the Veterans Day Parade last month in New York City. Almost 50 students, alumni and staff participated in America’s Parade, the largest Veterans Day event in the country, earning the college a place in the parade's official photo album at http://www.expoeventsphotography.com/Veterans-Parade/i-dpnxXqg. The information was shared by Kelly Bryan, director of development for the United War Veterans Council headquartered in New York City.
The United War Veterans Council, Inc. is a 501(c)19 nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing communities to honor, support and serve America's veterans. The organization is dedicated to ensuring that the public always embraces its commitment to provide all veterans and their families with the care, recognition and opportunities they have rightfully earned.
The parade route was 1.3 miles and featured more than 250 groups and 20,000 participants, including veterans of all eras, military units, civic and youth groups, and high school bands from across the country. This extraordinary event was televised and viewed by more than half a million spectators. Please join us next year when we again celebrate and honor our veterans in America’s Parade 2016.
