Are you interested in the current political climate and debate? Are you ready to encourage others to vote? The Office of Collegewide Student Affairs invites you to join us in the ESC Votes Campaign. The project will last six months and the campaign committee will meet monthly to spearhead planning statewide events that help students gain knowledge about the political process, current issues and candidates and to encourage political activism among our student body in this and future election cycles. Our mission is to encourage students to register and vote.
The presidential election of 2016 is heating up! The presidential primary in New York state is April 19. Get out and register in your party of choice and help decide who will run on your preferred party’s line.
Presidential election years are one of the most attended voting days in our nation’s election cycle. Almost 80 percent of our students registered in the last presidential election, but only 59 percent voted! It’s important to our future that our student’s voices are heard!
How can I register to vote? Voting is easy.
Go online to register to vote at http://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application and start filling out an application to vote now. You can also request a form by mail. Look for the blue box, “Do It By Mail,” in the lower-right section of the screen, just under the box “Before You Start.”
Students interested in participating should contact the Office of Collegewide Student Affairs. If you would like to volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Voting is an important part of a democratic society. Let your voice be heard.
