Health and wellness are important factors in your success as a student and SUNY Empire State College wants to help make sure you stay healthy while you are a student – and beyond. As we approach the 2016 Student Wellness Retreat this month, please take a few extra moments to do something healthy for yourself, whether that’s breaking from your studies to take a walk for some fresh air or rewarding yourself for all the hard work you did on one of your many assignments. This issue will offer several related articles and information with an emphasis on health and wellness, as well as recognizing April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Poetry Month.
It’s not too late to register for the Student Wellness Retreat, April 14-16, at The Hilton in downtown Albany, N.Y.! Registration will be open until April 12. This retreat is going to be one of the best health and wellness events ever, with so many great activities. The retreat will feature Emmy-winning comedian and heart-attack survivor Tracey Conway as our opening speaker, as well as keynoter Chris Powell, the host of “ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss.” You’ll have access to personal health coaches, more than 30 vendors and free, professional chair massages and can choose to participate in more than 40 sessions on topics such as stress management, Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates and eating healthy.
Hope to see you there!
