CBCF Emerging Leaders Internship Program - Application Deadline: November 5, 2017
Spring Internship Program Dates: Jan 16-May 4
The semester-long Emerging Leaders Internship Program sponsored by Walmart creates a corps of trained, young leaders with the skills, outlook, and contacts necessary to generate and sustain positive change in Washington, D.C. and their local communities. Interns will receive housing, a stipend, and will be placed in Congressional Black Caucus member offices and federal agencies. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; should be at least a college sophomore at the time of application; have a permit to work in the U.S.; and have a demonstrated interest in public service, governance, and the policy-making process. Recent college graduates are eligible as long as they have not yet started post-graduate studies and have graduated no more than a year from the internship program start date. From the Women’s Forum of New York website: Since 1987, the Women’s Forum Education Fund has provided Awards to help mature women—35 and older—pursue educational goals and enhance their capacities to provide leadership and productive and supportive service to their communities and beyond.
