Elusive Thought

(This poem portrays the frustration of losing a train of thought.)

Slippery as an eel
Or a mango peel,
Is my little thought
That can't be caught.
Elusive, evades me;
Taunting, parades she.
Free from my grasp,
Can't seem to clasp;
My fingers surround her,
But they can't account for
Her speed, so agile.
It'll take a while
For me to retrieve
And find reprieve.
Oh, there she is now!
Caught her, don't know how.
Firm between my fingers,
But she never lingers
Longer than a while,
Because that's her style.
