Students on the field study
The theme for the 2008 Environmental/Adirondack Studies Residency is "Traditional Ecological Knowledge." This program features a three (or four)-day interdisciplinary residency at Raquette Lake, with students and faculty from all over New York state. During the September 2008 enrollment period (June 3 through September 5), students select a single 4-credit residency course (and perhaps also a 2-credit pre-residency course) for guided independent study in the fall term. For details, see the descriptions of learning contracts. Over the three days, plenary sessions focus on the residency theme and related topics and small group seminars focus on the guided independent study.
*For Empire State College matriculated students only.
All residency courses meet the general education requirements.
