Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) Information

Academic G.P.A. Status:

The Academic G.P.A. status is calculated following the end-of-term grade due date and when grades are posted.

G.P.A. calculation for graduate students is based only on courses completed at the college and is not based on transfer credit or credit awarded through the assessment process.  The grades included in the G.P.A. calculation are A through NC/F.  The grades of FC, P, NP IN, ZW and WD have no value in the G.P.A. calculation.

G.P.A. Calculation at Empire State College is included as part of the student’s official transcript.

G.P.A. Status History

G.P.A. Status History displays if a student has failed to maintain a 2.00 G.P.A. If a student has maintained a 2.00 G.P.A. or better, then ‘NONE’ will be displayed.

Registration Hold(s)

Only active registration barriers will be displayed in this section. If there are no holds, then ‘NONE’ will be displayed.

Official Document(s)/ Transcript(s)

This section lists transcript(s) received as part of the application process and documents received as part of the degree program planning process. This list does not include transcripts that have been received as part of a cross-registration.

Academic Program Information

Academic programs that are currently active or degrees that have been completed are displayed, including the initial matriculation date.

Graduate Satisfactory Academic Progress (S.A.P.) Information

The Academic S.A.P. status is calculated following each end-of-term grade due date.

Completed credits is the total credits earned for successfully completed courses/studies. S.A.P. credits needed references the credit total required based on the student’s FTE Enrollment total. (For more information see academic policy.)

Graduate Satisfactory Academic Progress (S.A.P.) Status History

S.A.P. Status History displays if a student has had S.A.P. difficulty or changes in S.A.P. status. If a student has not encountered S.A.P. difficulty, then ‘NONE’ will be displayed. The effective date is the last date of the term and the posted dateis the date the S.A.P. program updated and posted the change in S.A.P. status. If the student has been reinstated following Academic Dismissal, the terms selected to reduce the student’s FTE (full-time equivalent) term total for academic purposes ONLY will be displayed.

Enrollment History

This is a comprehensive picture of the student’s enrollment in chronological order.

The following is a description of each column:

  • Term – the term of enrollment 
  • Course Section – the course section of the study/course 
  • Title – the title of the study/course 
  • FC/NC and P/NP – Y indicates the student selected to take the course study for Full credit/No credit.  Effective with the Fall 1 2015 term, the Pass/No Pass grades replaced the FC/NC grades 
  • Reg – indicates the number of credits for which the student registered for this course/study 
  • Cmpl – indicates the number of credits of the course/study the student successfully completed 
  • Grade – grade posted 
  • Reg Cancel – indicates if course cancelled. The FIN indicates registration cancelled due to financial reasons. The ACAD indicates the registration cancelled due to academic reasons 
  • Faculty – the instructor of study/course 
  • Term start date – the start date of this study/course 
  • Term end date – the end date of this study/course 
  • WDraw Date – the effective date of the student initiated withdrawal
