Certificate Program and Aid Eligibility

Students solely matriculated in a Certificate Program are not eligible for federal aid.  For NY state aid purposes, the Certificate Program must be at least 24 credits to qualify for state aid with an exception that students enrolled in a Certificate Program that is at least 12 credits may qualify for  New York State Veteran’s Tuition Award.

Students matriculated in both a Certificate Program and a Degree Program concurrently are eligible for federal aid and state aid if the certificate courses are being used to satisfy degree requirements.  Students must notify the Financial Aid office if the certificate courses are not being used toward the Degree requirements as well.
