Sue Epstein, Ph.D., Executive Director for the Office of Partnerships and the Interim Assistant Vice President in the Office for Advancement

Sue Epstein, Ph.D., serves as the executive director for the office of partnerships and the interim assistant vice president in the office for advancement.  Prior to her serving in the college’s administration, Sue was a faculty member in SUNY Empire’s School of business.  Sue joined the college in 2011 after holding a variety of positions in the private sector in marketing and market research.

Sue’s experiences of pursuing her own education while working and sharing in caregiving activities helped fuel her research interest in work and non-work dynamics.  At SUNY Empire, Sue’s research and service activities emphasize the dynamics of students’ work, personal and school responsibilities as well as facilitating sessions for students and employees on work-life dynamics. 

Sue earned a PhD from the University at Albany, SUNY in organizational studies with a focus on leadership. Her dissertation titled “Using Trait and Situational Leadership Approaches to Assess Theoretical Antecedents of Managers’ Work-life Supportive Behaviors” merged her interest in leadership and work-life issues. She also holds an M.B.A in marketing from New York University and a B.S. in applied economics and management from Cornell University.
